The HIV/AIDS Surveillance Registry (HARS) for New York City, managed by the NYC HIV Epidemiology and Field Services Program, is a population-based registry of all people diagnosed with AIDS (since 1981) or HIV infection (since 2000) and reported to the NYC DOHMH according to standard CDC case definitions. The registry contains demographic, HIV transmission risk, and clinical information on HIV-diagnosed people, as well as all diagnostic tests, viral load tests, CD4 counts, and HIV genotypes reportable under New York State law.
